The Overview:
Timelines and photos bring Mongolian culture to life in this website designed a companion for the Oscar-nominated documentary, The Story of the Weeping Camel.
The Site:
A National Geographic’s World Film, this magical documentary follows a family of Mongolian herders faced with hard choices when a mother camel rejects her newborn calf. Photo galleries and profiles of the culture, land, and creatures of the Gobi region accompany interactive timelines and maps exploring the sometimes-tumultuous history of this Central Asian crossroad, once the home of Genghis Khan and a vibrant component of the ancient Silk Route.
Project completed as an employee of National Geographic.
